Everybody comes to Hollywood, they want to make it in the neighbourhood…
Madonna can be called many things – and in some circles, she likely already has been – but Her Madgesty definitely got this right. Everybody – and everything - really does come to Hollywood. From fad diets to new trends, celebrities inadvertently act as something of a guinea pig for the rest of us. We let them try the newest thing and, if it works, we follow suit. If it doesn’t, well, tiny violins are played for the rich and famous.
One such thing that came to Hollywood and really did make it in the neighbourhood is CBD. (What is CBD and why should I care which celebs love it? Check out our guide on CBD and the benefits of using it!)
Let’s look at how some of the biggest names became the biggest fans of CBD…
Can CBD help you relax? These stars think so…
Gwyneth Paltrow
Is anyone surprised by this? Do we even need to elaborate? It’s Gwyneth. Queen GOOP. We bow down.
Kim Kardashian
Kim K is never one to miss out on a trend – and while she doesn’t always get it right – we agree with her love for CBD. The reality superstar loves CBD so much she actually had a CBD themed baby shower!
Jennifer Aniston
One of Jen’s closest Friends these days is CBD. Speaking to US Weekly, Aniston said: "CBD helps with pain, stress, and anxiety," adding that it offers her all the benefits of marijuana - without making her high.
So, High’ll be there for you no longer?
Alessandra Ambrosio
So this was Victoria’s Secret all along?
The supermodel has credited CBD as an essential part of her beauty routine, keeping her in her wings for longer. Alessandra has gone on record as suggesting that CBD oil helps her get the right quantity – and quality – of sleep.
Red Bull might give you wings, but CBD can give you Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings. *suddenly sees sales of our CBD X Wild Mint drops soar*
Olivia Wilde
Being the alleged future Mrs Harry Styles, Olivia probably needs as much relaxation as she can get – it can’t be easy being the envy (and enemy) of most teens and tweens.
During an interview with the New York Times last year, she opened up about how CBD really helped her body rest and adjust to a gruelling schedule.
She said: "Recently I did a play on Broadway for six months. My body was wrecked, [and] my neck was really tight. The CBD has relaxing benefits, and the idea is to avoid using too many painkillers."
Mandy Moore
This Is Us… freaking out because Mandy Moore is a big CBD fan too.
At the Golden Globes, she even suggested she was recommended CBD as a way of coping with aches and pains from being in her heels all the time – oh, the hard life of a star.
“This year I’m trying some CBD oil on my feet, which my stylist recommended,” she told the media at the awards. “I asked her if there was some kind of numbing cream, and she was like, ‘No! Try… CBD Oil.’”
Tom Hanks
Do you think Tom first read about CBD when he was… Sleepless in Seattle? Ba dum chh.
The beloved actor has credited CBD oil with helping him find more inner balance.
“The first time I ever tried CBD was to help soothe my anxiety,” he told CNN in 2017. “I was fed up with taking various pills to try and make me ‘better’… It wasn’t how I wanted to live my life anymore. So I gave CBD oil a try. It was a huge relief for me to feel like myself, yet the edge was gone. A bonus to the whole thing was the relief from various aches and pains I have.”
Whoopi Goldberg
Hallelujah, the Sister Act star has seen the light!
Whoopi has talked about her love of CBD products throughout various interviews and while hosting her TV show, The View.
This is one viewpoint she’s openly discussed on her show, The View, as well as in interviews and other settings.
She has suggested her use of CBD is primarily for pain, stress, and to help manage her glaucoma. She claims that the CBD works wonders for treating her pain and helping her feel peace when she’s overly stressed.
Athletes who use CBD for recovery
Because CBD is known for its soothing effects on the body, as well as restoring balance in the body and promoting better rest, many professional athletes have introduced it into their routines.
David Beckham
Beckham – a footballer to follower of sports and one half of Posh and Becks to those who do not – is a believer in the power of CBD.
The former Manchester United star is such a supporter of the benefits of CBD that he is a 5% owner in a cannabinoid wellness company called Cellular Goods.
Don’t bother Googling them though. We’re better (jk love you, CG x).
Mike Tyson
Ears something interesting – Tyson has taken a bite out of the CBD industry too.
Tyson has been very vocal in promoting the benefits of CBD for athletes, publicly stating that he uses it himself for training, as well as using it both before and after fights.
The boxing icon also has his own legal marijuana farm and company that sells cannabis products.
James Haskell
English Rugby player – and son-in-law to Richard and Judy - has released a number of YouTube videos about the benefits of CBD, where he shares how he and wife Chloe Madeley like to take CBD before a workout.
If you are looking to introduce CBD into your performance and recovery, make sure you use a trusted source. Might we be as bold to suggest ourselves? The Mindful Muscle choose the very best Cannabis Sativa L plants (which contain less than 0.3% THC, meaning it’s both legal and won’t make you high) with full traceability back to the seed the plant was grown from to make our products. We know what goes into our CBD oil drops, and why.

Not to get all Elle Woods now, but just as a legal reminder, any reference to CBD helping with anxiety or other specific medical condition is anecdotal. We are not promoting #FakeNews, just relaying direct quotations and personal claims from the stars themselves.
